Since our car decided to act up we became stranded in Grand Junction Colorado today. After hours at the repair shop we found it would be morning before the part arrived from Denver and noon before we'd be on the road again. So we rented a car and went to explore, who knew this is home to many vineyards (and of course tasting rooms). We had fun sampling, bought some to either drink along the trip or take home. The most unusual was at the Meadery of the Rockies which makes theirs from honey! No grapes! Very interesting process and not bad stuff to boot!.

Tonight we wandered downtown to Main Street to walk the five blocks designated no traffic for the Farmers market. Oh how we wished we could take the beautiful produce and fruits that we saw with us, but the heat would just destroy them in the car. Wonderful outpouring of townspeople with their booths of food, pastries, fruit, produce etc. Each block had musicians sharing their talent or local artists sitting quietly in the shade painting. This is a place we will definitely come back to. So I guess being stranded wasn't a bad thing after all!

Cross in the Rock

To the far right is Dead Horse Point which lies 2100 feet from the River.
You can drive there from Canyonlands and walk out to the very tip.
No thanks!!

We were on our way to Moab Utah to see the Canyons and take a trip down the Colorado River when we stopped at this View point. I love how it looks like this rock formation has a hat on.
After a long days drive how better to relax than at the Moab Brewery with a tray of brew 'samples' set before us. We had ordered two, one for Paul and one for me, clever server suggested we just get one and share, how smart!!! Ten of these buggers is a lot especially if you don't care for a few. Great place, dinner was super!!!!

I posted one of these flowers the other day, but the wind was blowing when I was trying to take the photo and it just didn't do the tree and blooms justice. I just love this shot with the gorgeous morning sky behind. Beautiful morning!

This is quite a large tree I spotted in a yard while walking. The flowers were so pretty with the whisps of I guess they are part of the petals. Almost like a soft fan surrround the flower.

I've watched these cactus or yuccas or whatever they are, grow and then sprout these shoots and pink blossoms, but this morning was the first time I had ever seen the pods on the limb. They just look so out of place.
