Spring has sprung, within the space of hours the trees have begun to blossom. What an uplifting sight it is to see the trees covered in beautiful blossoms.

The birds were really out today and this Goldfinch paused long enough to let me get a much better shot of him than his cousins did the other day. Beautiful sunny tummy he's sporting!

This little Kewpie was my Grandmothers and was given to me after she passed away in 1964. Always a reminder of those early years of growing up. It never matters when I look at her, whether I'm happy or sad, she's always there with her dimples and smile waiting to greet me. Next to her is a little fridge, Grandma got this years and years and years ago, it was a Promo given away at one of the stores. Actually it's a bank with a slit in the back. Grandma lived next door to us and kept this bank on the small built in dresser in the spare bedroom. She'd put loose change in it and when it was your birthday you got what was in it. When Mom gave it to me it was filled about half way. I like to think it's the coins that Grandma put in it, but I'm really not sure.
Memories, wonderful things aren't they?

I just walked down to get the mail, there are a lot of birds out and about flying here and there. The trees are still so barren that it's not hard to spot them amongst the bare branches. On the way back I kept hearing a sweet song. It was coming from these two little fellows perched high in the neighbors tree.

I hurried back to the house to grab the camera and sure enough they were still there upon my return. That wasn't the problem! They are so small that they blend into the limbs, it was hard to find them in the view finder to get a good shot before they spotted me and flew off. I wanted something a little clearer, a little closer but I guess I won't be unhappy because at least I did manage to get the two of them.

Their tummies were such a bright yellow, I don't think the pictures do them justice. I went searching online to see what yellow song birds are in my area I would guess these are goldfinches

I have a thing about Bell Towers lately. There are so many here, with the Mormon population so large there are many churches with towers on each. I've wondered if they are all the same or each different. Another thing to photograph I'm sure. This one was on the old school in the Historic District, the building dates early 1900. Beautiful isn't it, especially against that gorgeous blue sky.

More of the statues from earlier this week. These were the readers, a little boy and girl sitting and reading their books. I love how they have been placed just out and about in the yard like they are really there just enjoying the sunshine with their books.

I love the details the artist has painstaking added, especially the facial expressions and fingers and toes.














When we were out today, we passed by here and I saw a couple of other ones of children jumping rope and jumping over stones, so I'll need to go back and show you them another day!

I don't know why this sign just captures my interest but it has each time I see it, just off Main Street in downtown St George. I think it must be something from home years ago that's there, buried in the back of my mind, but not yet ready to pop to the surface of my memories. Perhaps from early teen years of walking down Commerce at home in Washington, when signs like this were top notch and right in style. Now they are dated but still there sure is something about them that draws you more than just flashing neon.

No statues today but these gas pumps were along the same walking path we took while taking the photos of the statues. I just had to take photos of them. I remember when I was very young, probably the mid-50's there was a Richfield Station, the last one before home, that had pumps like this that sat in front. Funny I hadn't thought of that station for years and yet as a small child I remember how neat the flying winged horse looked.
See things are still there in the recesses of our mind just
waiting for something to trigger them.

Over the next few days I may be posting a series of photos instead of just one. After looking at the photos I got I just couldn't narrow it down to one a day.

We went to the one of the original historic parts of St George around Main street where artists have donated these beautiful pieces of art.

Called "Art Around the Corner" it's a beautiful display of sculpture.


There are a lot of art galleries along main street and many buildings date back to the 1800's. If you come to visit make sure you take a right on 100 North and see the historic buildings there.







Many are on loan and are for sale, some will remain for just a period of time for the communities pleasure and others have been donated to the city for the public's viewing for as long as the city wishes to display them.


This first set was a depiction of two children on a bike, the detail is amazing. I tried to get enough shots so you could really get a feel for the detail in the face, feet and hands as well as everything else. Beautifully done, I'll be on the lookout as some are replaced with new ones. I'm sure we've missed some that hopefully I'll find as time goes on.


I think the artist has really captured the essence of youth here. I hope if you visit our community you'll have time to take a walk in the sunshine and enjoy the talent of the area.
